FOR SALE OR LEASE
7 yo, 16.1 chestnut Dutch Harness Gelding
First, second, prospect, or would be suitable staff horse (was whipped off of, twice).
Hunted twice a week with Smithtown Hunt of Long Island NY.
Has hunted first flight with Belle Meade and Whiskey Road Hounds, jumps 3' coops with ease. Schooled Cross Country. Red Beauty has been hunted about twice a week for close to a full season. Loves his job and runs right onto the trailer ready to go.
Beauty is solid and willing, with no spook. Not bothered by whips cracked off his back, hounds under his belly, car traffic, other horses, etc. Will happily ride in a line, or ride out alone. Trail rides well at home, also, has been ridden by children as well as adults.
A naturally forward horse (he has a large stride) but not a puller, he's an enjoyable ride in the field and can keep up with any pace, never tires. Rides in a rubber snaffle in the ring and a rubber Pelham in the field. Genuine to all fences and will jump anything in front of him, has jumped up to 2'6" but won't have a problem with the 3' coops after a bit of practice.
This wonderful gelding was previously an Amish carriage horse so he is somewhat green in the ring, but his huge stride is a perfect fit to eat up ground across a Virginia field (or anywhere else). He has had a tie-back operation due to breathing noise that was 100% successful and does not restrict his activity or performance.
He's flashy with extremely comfortable gaits, would be a great Man's horse as well due to his height or possibly even Sidesaddle.
Beauty has excellent ground manners and no buck, kick or bite. Stands quietly, gets along with other horses, calm in the field. Legs with great bone and Good solid feet, is currently barefoot and stands well for farrier. Goes easily through creeks, jumps ditches with ease.
