Max is a lovely 9-year-old, 17.3H Dutch Harness Horse/Belgian Draft cross gelding. He is a smashing big horse with substantial bone and impressive gaits. A true head-turner suitable for a man or a tall lady (rider in photos is 5’11”.) People always notice, and comment on, his good looks and presence.

He is a solid, forward-thinking, first flight hunter that can lead the field, hunt the hounds, or work as a whip’s horse (whip and gun broke). He has been ridden 3 full seasons with Long Run Woodford Hounds and guest hunted with many other packs (Cedar Knob Hounds, Mells Hunt, Camargo Hunt, Aiken Hounds, Whiskey Road Fox Hounds, Camden Hunt, Tennessee Valley Hunt.)

He hacks out alone with no spook; there’s not much that Max is worried about! He has a very smooth trot and canter; comfortable to hunt all day. Max is brave to fences, can handle any technical question, judges distances well, is very forgiving, and won’t pop you out of the tack.

Max has excellent ground manners. Good in the stall and kind in turnout - doesn’t fight, kick or bite other horses. He self-loads on the trailer, cross-ties, bathes, clips. He picks up his feet nicely, a joy to put studs in, and is the blacksmith’s favorite horse to work on. Healthy and sound as a bell – vetting welcomed.

During the off-season, Max is a competitive eventer. He has several wins at Novice, scores well in dressage and will pack you around XC – just point, shoot, and enjoy the ride. USEA registered name: Tough Mudder.
