2020 16+h Friesian Cross Mare
Luna is a beautiful 2020 Friesian cross mare standing 16/16.1 hands high with an “old soul” personality and a kind, easy-going nature. She is AA-friendly and has proven herself to be a versatile, dependable partner both in and out of the hunt field.
Luna’s primary experience has been foxhunting. She hunted consistently in Second Field last season and has been walking out with hounds this spring, where she continues to gain exposure and miles ahead of the upcoming season. She confidently handles a variety of terrain and footing, including muddy and trappy ground, water crossings, rocky areas, and gravel roads.
Beyond hunting, Luna is equally happy driving, working in the ring, or heading out on the trails. She has also shown herself to be exceptionally level-headed in busy public settings. Luna participated in the Town of Middleburg Oktoberfest parade as the “Keg Kart” horse, taking the crowds, noise, and downtown activity completely in stride. She was even featured on Fox 5 News during the event.
In the barn, Luna is uncomplicated and enjoyable to have around. She currently lives out comfortably in a mixed herd but is equally content in a stall. She is good for the farrier, easy to load and trailer, ties quietly, clips well, and is up to date on all care.
Luna is the type of horse that is hard to find — sensible, versatile, and genuinely kind. She is looking for a home that will appreciate her steady temperament, willingness, and wonderful personality.
