PODGES

2015 16.1 hand TB/Clyde gelding.

He has  been hunting first field with Andrew’s Bridge as well as the jumping field with Mr. Stewart’s Cheshire Foxhounds this season.

He is an all around  athletic, kind, and willing horse. He is a hunting machine who is always there at the end of the day and keeps up all day with a great brain from start to finish. I often hunt him 2+ days a week. He is extremely capable and has a great brain to match with a can do attitude. Podges has a solid WTCG in the hunt field and has an independent mindset which shows in his brakes, steering, and self awareness in the hunt field, no matter his company. He is a great jumper and has lots of scope, often jumping telephone pole jumps, coops with and without riders on top of the coop, large logs, and more. Podges is often asked to lead the group past and through herds of cattle and he does so without a second thought. He crosses creeks, bridges, ditches, etc and is handy in slick, muddy, and just plain bad footing. Podges has been and will continue to be used as field master’s mount as needed for the continuation of the season.

Podges also schools well in the ring on the flat and over colored fences with no opposition. He would be a great candidate to event, show, clinic, and more and be the Jack of all trades, grab and go horse for a rider who wants to have fun.

Podges has both trailered and hacked to the meet. Hunts in a fat snaffle. Podges has been hunted by a lady and a gentleman. Podges would make a great partner for any ambitious foxhunter who wants to have a capable mount to follow any pack and hack in with the hounds at the end of the day.

On the ground, Podges easily ties, cross ties, loads, trailers, bathes, stands to be shod, is easy to clip, etc. Podges is going to be a great addition to any hunting barn.
